Karachi Kings defeated Lahore Qalandars by seven runs in Pakistan Super League
In the 27th match of Pakistan Super League, Karachi Kings defeated Lahore Qalandars by seven runs.
In this match played in Abu Dhabi, Karachi
Kings won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 176 runs for the loss of
five wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Chasing a target of 177, Lahore Qalandars
scored 169 for seven in 20 overs.
Qalandars' Sohail Akhtar (21 off 14 balls)
was bowled by Muhammad Ilyas while Fakhr Zaman (19) was bowled by Emad Wasim.
Agha Salman was run out for just one run
while Ben Dunk was run out for six off Noor Ahmed.
Mohammad Hafeez scored 36 off 36 balls with
the help of three fours and a six and was caught by Noor Ahmed. Lahore
Qalandars' Tim David scored 34 off 14 balls and was bowled by Abbas Afridi.
Qalandars' seventh out was James Faulkner,
who struck 33 off 18 balls with three sixes and a four off Muhammad Ilyas.
Noor Ahmed of Lahore Qalandars was declared
man of the match for taking 19 runs and two wickets in four overs.
On the other hand, Shaheen Shah Afridi was
the first to take the wicket of Sharjeel Khan from Lahore Qalandars who managed
to score only 13 runs off 10 balls.
Babar Azam of Karachi Kings scored 54 runs
while Rashid Khan and Martin Guppel scored 43 runs and got out on the ball of
Ahmed Daniel.
Najibullah Zadan got out on the ball of
Mohammad Hafeez without scoring a run while Chaduk Walton scored 10 runs and
got out at the hands of Mohad Rashid.
Emad Wasim remained unbeaten on 30 while
Danish Aziz remained unbeaten on 16.
For this match, two changes were made in the
team of Karachi Kings and Waqas Maqsood and Amir Yameen were replaced by Danish
Aziz and Muhammad Ilyas while Agha Salman was included in the team of Lahore
Qalandars.
