Missing breakfast can shorten life -
Breakfast is a very important meal - it can either make or break your day. It is the most important meal of the day for millions of Muslims around the world. According to a recent study by the American College of Cardiology, it can prolong life, while skipping breakfast increases the risk of dying from heart disease.
Researchers and professors from several American
universities worked on the findings. They looked at the breakfast habits of
6,550 people between the ages of 40 and 75 between 1988 and 1994. Researchers
were asked what they ate for breakfast. Five percent of those surveyed said
they never ate breakfast. Yes, about 11% said they rarely do, and 25% said they
do sometimes.
The study only looked at people's breakfast
habits and did not include an analysis of these other habits. It also does not
show what breakfast is important to different people. For example, most people
eat breakfast every day, but some of them have a healthy breakfast at eight
o'clock and some spend the morning at a sandwich or cereal bar.
However, Dr. Way Baune, an assistant
professor at the University of Iowa who is the lead author of the study,
defended the findings. He said that according to his research, breakfast is an
easy solution for a healthy heart. Bao and his colleagues also wrote that there
is a strong link between breakfast and heart disease, which has nothing to do
with people's social and economic status, size, and risk factors for the heart
and blood system.
Experts wrote that according to their
information, this is the first analysis on the link between skipping breakfast
and heart disease. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the
world. According to the World Health Organization in 2016 worldwide, About 15.2
million people died because of them.
